the debate

i swear davis cameron has has botox..... defo wearing make up.

nick clegg is rather kool

gordon brown is rather funny

Part 2:

Nick Clegg is actually nauseating. Why? Well, he keeps saying we need a change from the old parties. He keeps trying to be emphathetic tooo much, and appears to be playing too much on emotions eurgh. He seems to discredit the other parties policies without really saying enough about his, he was doing this in the last debate.

Part 3:

Well, Mr Brown may be prone to gaffs (as was shown by calling a woman a bigot), but hey he has strong knowledge and experience of how to handle the economy, and right now, that's what we need, someone that can help our dire economy... go Gordon Brown! Also he doesn't talk with a lot of air

I'm starting to get the impression that Nick Clegg talks at you.. not kool. I love the way he keeps trying to act as if he is the peacemaker and still using the emotional card, and then when he can't answer a question, turns it back around on whoever asked it. And then keeps saying everyone has got it all wrong... EURGH!!!!

I've been finding the debates intriguing, and I like learning about what the parties have to offer me, but at the same time, I can't help but think, oh good, you say you'll be able to do all these things for me, but in reality, can they actually do them? Maybe on white paper, but just cos it works on paper doesn't mean it'll happen in the real world I've done enough physics questions to know that theory doesn't always mirror reality. Like stuff happens that we can't predict and our resources have to be diverted right?

Take the 9/11, I don't know whether or not it could of been stopped but either way, a lot of time, and money was diverted to what we now know to be wars and stuff... I doubt the running parties would of factored in wars to their manifestos.

I get the impression that of the three leaders, Brown is being the most sensible. Some people argue that we could of stopped the economic crisis we are in, or it could of been less severe. If you look at our economy, we rely heavily on imports, we export little, therefore anything that happens in other countries economies would of affected ours. This is what happens in a globalised world. I don't support socialism, but Russia because it is a closed economy suffers a lot less, just a note.
THis will be continued, but I got lectures to go to!

  4. Part 2:
That's Nick Clegg's job... he doesn't really need policies since he'll never be in power; he just needs to successfully not be either of the other two.

  5. Whilst Clegg's demagoguery fails to rally the older generations, it does attract the admiration of younger voters, thanks no doubt to the idealism of his promises.

Brown's apparent sagacity has been reduced to idiocy. It is not so much a question of a politcian refraining from venting his/her anger on the public, but rather that he/she ensures that the public is oblivious to such comments.

The public and media's obsession with the promises of the parties is laughable. As you speculated, how much of the politicians' talk will manifest into action?

Surely the most appropriate party to lead should be determined by examining the professional qualities of the polticians (not just the party leaders, but others associated with each party), the history of the parties and the needs of Britain in its CURRENT state.

However such an examination would be long-winded, not to mention difficult. The politics of Britain seem to mirror more and more those of the USA, at least in regards to the approach taken by politicians and the public towards elections.

Unfortunately, Churchill's witty remark rings truer and truer as a result.

"The best arguments against democracy can be found when one speaks to the average voter for five minutes."

  6. Indeed I was discussing this with my boyfriend the other day that these parties, especially lib dems and the tories have a tendancy to make policies which I feel don't fully address the xcurrant situation.

I feel at present that labour is best suited to the currant climate, but not necessarily our future. As I think I said earlier brown's policies make good sense for us and will help shape a better more stable economic climate. However in this technological age we are always looking towards a brighter future with a great sense of idealism as you say.

We need to stop trying to keep up with the jones's. But given that most of the papers and tabloids are cameronites we're fucked... I can already hear The Sun echoing with 'It's The Sun what won it'. Ha my friend just showed me page 3 of todays Sun, a picture of like 15 topless models with the title save these girls from the dole with a picture of a blue rosette.

Clegg is just words, trying to take on the role of peacemaker between the two old warring parties, a role which we've seen many times, but little else. However aren't our decisions basede a lot on emotion? Well done clegg, you clearly know how to win us over.

I wrote the above yesturday on my BB but have only just copied it across.. I also voted this morning.. was kool, except it wasn't in my local elections... stupid postal vote never came through... GAY GAY GAY fucking postman

  8. Well we all woke up too what we expected....

I am surprised at how disappointing it was for the Lib Dems after all that show talk..but it seems the British public decided not to be swayed in the end....

However, and worringly, people being denied the vote!! Granted, you are entitled to a vote between 7am and 10pm, so if you were in the queue before 10pm, you were entitled to vote and I still think you should of been entitled to it if you didn't get to the front of the queue by 10pm. It's not the voters fault if the polling station couldn't handle the response. And given the close contest in some places, I wouldn't be surprised if an enquiry took place. You could aruge that they should of turned up well before 10pm given that they had all day...but, this is weak, afterall it shouldn't matter what time you turn up, as long as it's within voting hours, it's within your rights to turn up 1 minute before closing... kudos to the Lewisham returning officer who allowed polls to be open for an extra half an hour, granted he'll probably get a right bollocking but I personally feel he done the right thing.

If I had one thing to say to Cameron, if would probably be what was said by a number of people yesturday... you didn't win cos you were popular, they just didn't want labour in, and well the lib dems are never going to get in..so people were left with little choice but to vote blue...

  9. Well... I guess I have to put up with Cameron... However, installing Eric Pickles into a position in the cabinet?!??!?! Welll... I've heard this guy speak and he is a complete and utter fool, who realised he was not going to win a debate I heard him speak at and tried to force people to abstain from voting......
